Our First Christmas Tree

About a week ago we went with the other Merrills to pick and cut down our Christmas trees. We picked out a tree that I must admit didn't look as big in the wild as it did in our apartment. Then Saturday Dec. 6th Patty and Julie came over to decorate it with all of Julie's stuff. Patty is so amazing at decorating, I just let her do her thing.

AND THE OUT COME IS MY OUR FABULOUS PATTY MERRILL CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!

How many couples first Christmas trees look this good?! Thanks to Patty and Julie!

Cute Nathan Moment

So my five year old nephew Nathan just spent the last three weeks in Washington visiting family. Before they left we told him and his sister that I was pregnant. I went with my older brother to pick him up from the airport and when he saw me he had this cute grin. I got out of the car to give him a hug and he said hi to me and got in the car. I sat next to him and he keep looking at me and finally said "so where is your baby anyway? Did you leave him at home or something?"(SO CUTE!!!). I told him that the baby was still in my tummy and would be there for a long time and would probably be kicking by his birthday in June. He said "well, I'll just have to say away from him them". I love my sweet Nathan! He's going to be a great older cousin!

I'm Pregnant

Yes my friends that's a positive Rite Aid brand test. On November 19th David and I found out that our family will be growing by one. I took a test three days after my missed period and it came up positive within seconds. It was a shock! David and I were both quiet with disbelief. After the UCR health center confirmed it started to sink in more. The first thing I did was go to my sister-in-law Heather's house and told her. We then plotted of a way to tell my parents. David and I bought pizza and took it over to my mom's house to watch Kung Fu Panda with my dad on the new Plasma they bought. Meanwhile Heather went to Target and bought two bibs that said "I love grandma" and "I love Grandpa", she put them in bags and when she came over we gave one to my dad and the other to my mom. My dad figured it out right away, but my mom just looked so confused. She thought that it was a present for a baby shower that I was going to on Saturday. When she finally realized what it was she said "NO!" then I said "Yes, it's true" and then she started to cry like I haven't seen her in such a long time. It was a special moment.

Saturday I went to Kristy Merrill's baby shower and couldn't tell anyone because David wanted to be there. That Sunday David's parents Patty and Dan came out to our ward for Josie and Parker's primary activity and after Sacrament we gave them the same bibs. They figured it out a lot faster than my parents did.

So far my 7 weeks of pregnancy have been a interesting experience. Some highlights are being able to choose the right Doctor (Dr. Dozier), him thinking we were having twins and being able to have a ultrasound and seeing the baby's heart beat. I love being pregnant! Well that is almost all true EXCEPT for the morning sickness (which shouldbe called all day sickness)! I will end this post with a picture that any previously pregnant woman will understand!
